The uniform is an important part of the Scouting program. It identifies the youth and adults and gives them a sense of belonging to the scout den, Pack, and the Scouts BSA Troop. The scouts should wear it to all Pack meetings and any Pack activities, unless announced otherwise in advance by their leaders.

Pictured above are scouting Class A uniforms for each scout rank.  After calling our New Member Coordinator (NMC) to register, and dues are paid in full, Pack 222 will supply some of the uniform accessories identified below. And the scout's parents will supply the remaining items listed.

Frequently Asked Question:

“Uh-oh. I’ve just read these instructions and one of my patches is in the wrong place.  Now what do I do?”

Answer: Don’t worry about it.  No one in Pack 222 will ever criticize a Scout for where their patches are placed on the uniform. However, to avoid incorrect placement please consider having your patches sewn on.We’re happy to allow the Scouts to show-off their achievements with pride. To have your initial patches sewn on please refer to the blue box.

Additional Uniform Information

It is suggested that you buy shirts that the Scouts will grow into – expect each uniform shirt to last a couple of years. That means, buy your scout's shirt one to two sizes larger.

Uniform shirts should always be tucked-in.

Neckerchiefs are to be worn under the collar.  Scouts may wear any “official” neckerchief slide, any slide they have made, or our traditional homemade slides provided to them via pack tradition.

Scouts may wear any dark colored neat and clean pants with their uniform.

Please purchase your scout uniform materials from the Mecklenburg County Council BSA Scout store:

1410 East 7th St., Charlotte

Phone: 704-333-5471

Den meetings are usually "Class B" t-shirts; you may want to purchase an additional one.  "Class A" uniforms are worn to all Pack activities and events.
